Choosing canopies and awnings

Buying a canopy or awning

When it comes to choosing and buying canopies and awnings there are many leading brand names to choose from not to mention literally hundreds of styles and colour schemes.
When looking to purchase a canopy or awning I feel it is important you decide what it will be used for, for example do you want to use it on your caravan, or perhaps even on your house.
Deciding what the awning or canopy will be used for will help you narrow down the number of potential products you might be interested in buying.

As with anything it’s important to take your time and not rush into purchasing canopies and awnings. Research what models and brand names are out there? Find out which brand names and models come highly recommended, and which ones you are best to steer clear of.

Canopies and awnings come in many styles and sizes and I feel it’s wise and important you decide what style you like the most. For example do you want to pay that little bit extra to get an electric awning, or do you prefer to have a good old fashion wind up and in manual canopy or awning. Like with most things your decision will be based on budget, personal preference and use.

Speaking of use and uses, I have found it good to research how effective each awning or canopy is at protecting you from the sunshine and other elements, as some canopies can actually look good in the shop but not be so good when on paper. Finding out from review sites and recommendations which products work and don’t work can save you a lot of time and money.

When purchasing or looking around for awnings and canopies I always feel it essential to find out what warranty and guarantee comes along with the product. I always find this reassures me, gives me piece of mind. Even if this is not one of your main considerations I would still find it useful to know what’s covered and what’s not under your guarantee/warranty to save you from any costly repairs should your awning or canopy go wrong.

After taking into consideration brand name, style, and warranty I would then look at price. Prices of canopies vary but there are some really good deals and bargains to be had online. Awnings are affordable and realistically priced and can make an ideal addition to your home, or your home away from home (caravan)

I am personally a fan of awnings as I feel they give you a nice bit of shade from the summer sun. I find both awnings and canopies easy to clean and very low maintenance, I find that they are practical and that they fit in with my everyday life. So if you still want to buy either a canopy or awning then why not take a bit of time to research what you want out of an awning or canopy. Look around to find out which one suits your needs/requirements, taking into consideration storage, size, price, quality.
